TRE
A body led approach to releasing patterns of tension, stress and trauma.
TRE stands for tension and trauma release exercises. It is a series of simple exercises that activate the bodies natural tremoring mechanism. The tremors influence the nervous system to release held patterns of tension, stress and trauma.
Do you struggle to switch off or let go? Do parts of you feel constantly tight or stuck? These sessions are for anyone looking to reduce tension, stress and pain.
I combine TRE with mindful movement, awareness of breath, grounding and meditation. All of these practices attempt to focus attention away from the dominance of the mind and into the whole body and our present environment in a non-judgemental way. This enables us to see things clearly and access parts of the nervous system that help us relax and move towards ease and calm.
We practice slowing down and taking breaks. Imagine the slow motion of a football tackle, were we get to see exactly what happened. We apply that to ourselves. That way we:
-
get an accurate picture of whats happening
-
avoid bypassing signs
-
catch difficult things and break to process them before they overwhelm us
Close of practice is with a nice savasana (lie down).

MORE ABOUT GROUP TRE
Aim of Group - To develop awareness of how we are individually holding tension/stress in the whole body. Apply insight to action and develop the skills to process it.
That involves being present, looking at different ways we approach the tension as well as looking for where there is capacity and ease.
Over the 4 weeks we will give particuluar interest to:
Week 1 - pelvis , hips and low back
Week 2 - shoulders, neck and upperback/ribs
Week 3 - Feet and Hands
Week 4 - Head and Jaw
If you can't make one of the in-person sessions you can come to one of the online sessions.
