About
Hello, I'm Ellie
I'm an advanced clinical and sports massage therapist.
They say, you give what you need! At times, I have felt very isolated by pain and stress, I think a lot of us have. Through professional training and personal experience, I know how, individual, complex and frustrating patterns of pain, tension and stress are.
We are a diverse bunch, each one of us has a unique blend of genes and life no one else lives. The heart of my work is to understand your experience and how we can improve how you feel. I work to;
-
Understand your reason for seeking treatment.
-
Identify where the body has pain, tension or dysfunction and how it affects you.
-
Treat the body with manual therapy.
-
Give support and advice that is relevant and realistic to you, where you are now.
My mission is to deliver supportive and practical physical therapy, that is non-judgemental and effective.

“Alone we can do so little,
together we can do so much”

My Background
I graduated in 2004 with a degree in Sports Science, followed by a postgraduate diploma in outdoor education. I liked sport, exercise and being outdoors. I still do! For 10 years I balanced striving to engage the youth of North Edinburgh in sport and outdoor learning with ski seasons and teaching folks of 3 to 90 skiing up Cairngorm Mountain.
During this time, I would have bouts of debilitating back pain plus I was born with a genetic condition and hypermobility that create confusing issues at times. I needed my body to work and was eager to fix it. Some massage and a nougat of simple movement education made a big difference. In 2010 I signed up to a massage course at the weekends, I was interested in how to maintain my own and others physical movement. Today I am still here trying to understand how to keep myself and others feeling good and able to engage positively in life. These days I have considerably more experience and education.
